　とある監督が若手に言った話。

　これからプロになりたいのなら、絶対に評論家の意見は眼にするな。アレは素人向けの作文であって、プロへのアドバイスにはならないからだ。

　評論家がある作品を褒めたとしよう。　君に作家に必要に想像力があれば、その作品の評価は加速度的に上がって来て、やがて超えられない様な恐ろしいものになる。ただ単に好きか嫌いか言っているだけなのにだ。　　逆もまたしかりで、評論家が馬鹿にすると、併せてこちらが馬鹿にする様になる。

　プロなら、自分で眼で見聞して自分で評価を下すことが肝心であり、他人の評価から入ることは極めて危険。自分で見た後で他人の意見を眼にするのは全くかまわない。
