　フリーダム・ライダーズ　人種隔離バスへの抵抗

　NHKで、このドキュメンタリーを見たのだが本当に凄まじい。
　人種隔離バスへ抗議するために‘フリーダム・ライダーズ’を名乗る白人黒人のグループがバスに一緒に乗り込むのだが、このバスのタイヤが何者かにパンクさせられ、運転手は逃げ出す始末。バスの窓は割られ、炎上してしまい、後はお決まりの暴力沙汰。
　FBI長官フーバーは司法長官に何も報告せず、ケネディはフルシチョフとの会談を前にして、アメリカの恥さらしだとうんざり。
　バスはアメリカ南部で次々と暴力事件に巻き込まれていき、ついに大統領がアラバマ州知事に電話をかけるも、州知事は居留守を使う始末。おまけに警察署長は筋金入りの人種差別主義者。
　白人女性は赤ちゃんを抱きながら、‘黒人を殺せ’と叫び、KKKはおなじみの格好でうろつく有様。
　差別はどこの国でもあると思うが、ここまでストレートな野蛮さに呆然としてしまった。
