スターリンが死んだとき。フルシチョフら党幹部たちは彼をどこに埋葬すればいいか悩んだという。なるべく遠くに葬りたかったのだ。でもどこの国も遺体の埋葬を引き受けようとはしなかった。困りきっていたところ、イスラエルから「建国に際し干渉しなかった恩があるので引き受けよう」との申し出があったが、フルシチョフはこれに対して丁重に断った。訳を聞かれると、フルシチョフはこう答えた。「だって彼の地では以前一人復活しているじゃないか。」
