2.サンライズの事情

サンライズからすると、富野監督に下手に作品を作らせたところでこの厳しいご時世では儲かる保証もない。むしろ赤字を出す可能性すらある。そう考えれば監督には講演やらインタビューなどをやらせて稼いでもらったほうが儲かる。数千万、億かけてわざわざリスクの高いアニメを送り出すよりこっちの方がよっぽどいいじゃないか・・・。それに一冊2000円以上もする「リーンの翼」の小説版や定価15000円を超える「ガンダム30周年ドキュメンタリー メモリアルボックス」を文句を言いながらも買ってしまうような富野ファンの存在も大きい。確かにこれらは大きいマーケットではないのだろうが、こういうグッズでローリスク・ローリターンで手堅く稼げる状況がある以上、わざわざリスキーな新作アニメを手がける必要を感じないのではないか。
