日本で初めてウォッカを製造・販売したのは、ロシア系亡命ユダヤ人のミハエル・コーガンが創業した太東貿易である。ただし同業他社が登場したのですぐ撤退、その後は輸入やアミューズメント事業に方針転換、現在はゲーム会社のタイトーとなっている。
